each great design begins with
an even better story – here's ours.
Looking back I can say that icandothat design didn't begin as a "plan" it just kind of happened! Entrepreneurship is certainly a roller coaster ride, you wear all of the hats but all joking aside starting and running a business has been one of the most difficult and joyful things I have ever done.
Starting from the beginning, I inherited the creative gene from my mother and I realized my passion for design during my freshmen year of college. I graduated with my degree in communications and graphic design from The Ohio State University in 2008.
For the following five years, I worked full time in marketing and design positions while living in Ohio, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. From an architecture firm to an art museum with printing companies in between, I gained a diverse knowledge of all types of print and design. On the side of these full-time gigs I was dabbling in all kinds of freelance design, from logos to party invitations and even designed scrapbook paper for a while.
Like what you see? Let's work together!
Well one referral led to another, and another, and I found that each design request that came my way was welcomed with an overly enthusiastic “I can do that!”... and well, as you can see, that phrase stuck!
Today I live with my husband, two (soon to be three) daughters, and dog in Columbus, Ohio and work full-time from my home office. I work with select small business clients but my main focus is creating custom wedding invitations for couples all across the country. Whether the wedding planning is full of classic or quirky designs, I provide the creative direction to bring each couple's vision to life on paper. By the time we are done working together, I will likely be calling you my friend, using emojis in our emails, and following you on Instagram!
Jenna and I have "the same brain" as we call it which makes designing invitation suites together a dream! When I'm not behind the screen bringing fun ideas to life, I'm usually out on the beach with my husband, Logan, and our two golden retrievers, Winnie and Clementine.
I work behind the scenes to keep all the things organized and ordered so Jenna & Alana can focus on creating the pretty paper! As a mom to two little girls, Maddie and Josie, once everyone is in bed you can catch me cuddled up on the couch binging Netflix and eating popcorn.
My husband and I tied the knot in Brooklyn, New York in March 2018. Our cocktail hour featured 12 cheeses followed by a pasta bar.
In the last 15 years I have lived in Ohio, Virginia, Washington DC and New York City. I currently have a home office in Columbus, Ohio.
We have two daughters and another sweet baby girl is on the way. Being a momma is a crazy, chaotic ride but it's truly my biggest joy in life!
I met my husband, Vince, and I got married in NYC in March 2018. Our wedding colors were emerald, sage, and olive green with pops of mustard yellow.

My husband and I welcomed our first child into the world in 2019. Xyla is a sweet little girl who made her arrival a whole month early after I experienced some pregnancy complications. Needless to say she has kept us on our toes ever since! She is constantly smiling and has a big belly laugh that will make you smile too. Being her momma is truly my biggest joy in life!
My beginning years in business included doing design work from coffee shops, couches, and the kitchen table. Today I have an office to work from in our home in Queens, New York. On weekdays you will find me at my desk, still in my pjs, with a coffee cup in hand while I obsess over the perfect design details to make your wedding paper extra special.
Meet Zoey! She is a 10 year old Australian Shepherd. and has been around since icandothat design was born. She spends her days curled up under my desk when not being a jungle gym for my daughter. She's affectionally called "the grandma" dog in our neighborhood because she loves meeting puppies. Fun fact, Zoey & I even have the same birthday!
• All 12 of my first cousins have names that start with the letter 'J' (by grandma's request!)
